Founded in 2020 by Judy Ribner, DNP, CNM, Holistic Midwifery New York has grown to a team of four midwives dedicated to the midwifery model of care and supporting physiologic birth.
We value evidence-based practice, shared decision making and helping women achieve the birth of their dreams.
We provide individualized care in the comfort of your home.
In addition to homebirth, we also provide comprehensive gynecological services including contraception.

Our Founders
Judy Ribner, DNP, CNM
Co-Founder & Midwifery Director
Judy is a doctorally prepared midwife who completed her graduate midwifery education at SUNY Downstate and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from NYU as valedictorian. Having professionally attended births at home, in birth centers, and in hospitals, her approach is grounded in trusting women, honoring physiologic birth, and providing safe, individualized care in the setting that best meets each woman’s needs.
Joshua U. Klein, MD, FACOG
Co-Founder – Birthing Center NYC
Dr. Joshua Klein is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist who completed his medical education at Harvard Medical School and his fellowship at Columbia University. He serves as Chief Clinical Officer of Extend Fertility.
As a co-founder of Birthing Center NYC and its Long Island practice, he is committed to expanding women’s access to high-quality, individualized midwifery care and supporting a model grounded in physiologic birth, safety, and appropriate medical collaboration.

With private spaces, birthing tubs, birth balls, essential oil diffusers, and comfortable furnishings, each suite is designed to support relaxation, movement, and your individual birth preferences in a peaceful environment.
